Silverlight is required to view streaming videos, which is very fast and easy to install. Simply use the following link: Get Silverlight
You also need an internet connection with a download speed of at least 500Kbps, though we recommend 1Mbps (1000Kbps) for the smoothest experience. If you are unsure about your download speed, there are several sites that can quickly and safely test your download speed. Simply use your favorite search engine to search for the phrase “Speed Test”.
Software System Requirements
100MB of disk space is required for installation.
You also need to consider storage space for the video you are going to use. Standard Definition (SD) video files for 90 minutes of footage can be as much as 5GB so plan your hard disk drive space accordingly. If you are shooting in High Definition (HD), the file size may be more than double. If you have an existing computer with a relatively small hard disk drive, we recommend purchasing an external drive to expand your disk space.
When editing video, please consider that monitor size, CPU, video card and hard disk drive space are all very important factors. If you plan on doing a lot of multitasking, increasing RAM is highly recommended. For optimal performance, we recommend avoiding Windows Vista.

1 – Please Note that the “Budget Laptop” is minimum if you are using high definition video.

For Mac-based users, Max OS X (Leopard®) or newer is required along with Boot Camp or an equivalent dual boot software to enable a Windows OS boot partition. A Windows OS is still necessary – we recommend Windows 7.
A good accessory to consider if you have a large flat panel television with a PC monitor input is a 10-foot monitor cable so you can review clips with your team using the Clip Viewer.
